The way of wearing the Japanese traditional footwear such as geta and zori is different from that of flip-flops or clogs. The correct way of wearing geta and zori is;
it is better to have a little space (like you can put your finger) between a thongstraps of geta /zori and your toes, especially the place between the big toe and the second toe.
it is better to exceed your heel from the platform of geta /zori about 1.5 - 2cm (1/2 - 1 inch) as well as your little toes. That is why, the thongstraps of geta/ zori are in general a little bit tighter than these of clogs.
The shape of platform (a part of board) in general: oval "more feminine" and rectangular "more masculine"
